Russian Olympic Committee (ROC)
The BriefFollowing the Vancouver Games, leaders within the Russian sports community wanted to determine why Russian winter sports performance was declining and what steps could be taken to make sure performance improved in time for the Sochi Games. In particular, leaders wanted an assessment of the current Russian winter sports system, a review of the best practices being used by top-performing National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and recommendations for what (ROC) should do to support better medal results in Sochi 2014. TSE Consulting was engaged to assess the Russian winter sports system, review best practices from around the world and provide recommendations for better results and success in 2014.
Our ResponseBased on the company’s experience conducting large-scale research projects for leading international sports organisations, TSE designed a solid methodology, including collection and analysis of data relating to trends in recent Russian winter sports performance with comparisons to other top performing countries; review of the current organisational structure and dynamics within the Russian sports community; surveys to relevant groups within the Russian winter sports community; onsite interviews and site visits to training facilities. Based on the data analysis, key areas for success were identified and recommendations for the Russian sports community to consider to make the greatest impact on performance in Sochi in the shortest period of time, while using resources efficiently and effectively.
From the Client"TSE Consulting’s expertise and high quality work resulted in a quality report, which was presented to the leadership of the country and will certainly be used in the preparations of the Olympic Games in Sochi.
