Korean Olympic Committee
The briefThe Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) wanted to re-position itself on the international sports scene to best support Korean cities reaching out to attract major international events. The KOC turned to TSE Consulting for advice on how to develop an international out-reach programme focused on building relations within the international sports community.
Our responseTSE was aware that the KOC not only had to focus on the current Korean bids but that it had to think long-term in their positioning and international strategy for the benefit of both its current and future bids. In response TSE built strategies outlining how the KOC could firstly re-position itself towards the international sports community and secondly how it could best support Korean bids for international major sports events. TSE, through its Lausanne office set up meetings for the KOC with many of the key decision makers in International Federations based in Switzerland. The KOC has been successful in showcasing Korea as a power house in attracting international events, especially with the recent success of Daegu for the 2011 World Athletics Championships and Incheon for hosting the rights to the 2014 Asian Games, and with many more great events to come. The KOC, with the help of TSE, has been successful in positioning itself in the international sports community and reaching out to the key influencers in international sport.
