City of Ottawa
The brief
The City of Ottawa, Canada's Capital, has put in place a new event team that has its eye on attracting national and international sports events and congresses to the vibrant city. The City's first victory came early as FIFA announced Ottawa as a host city for the 2015 Women's World Cup. This new focus on attracting events has sparked a need to develop a comprehensive event strategy that will allow the city to clearly outline its objectives in hosting events and identify its priority targets for the coming year. Working together with TSE, Ottawa is excited to further develop its international profile in international sport.
Our response
TSE Consulting used a three-phased approach to advise, support and promote all of Ottawa's sports events bidding efforts.Following a first phase of research and recommendations thanks to a survey conducted among international and national sports leaders to measure international and national perceptions of Ottawa as a sports event destination, a second phase of work included strategy planning and assistance on the re-enforcement of Ottawa's events department. Finally, TSE supported Ottawa in the implementation of its developed events strategy and provides on-going advice as the city moves forward with its sporting ambitions.
