The briefHalmstad established their 'Vision Halmstad 2020' in 2007 but wished to develop a concrete management and steering model to support this overarching vision. Vision Halmstad 2020 focuses on three axes: (1) the vision of hometown, (2) the city of knowledge and (3) the city of experiences. As part of this vision, Halmstad wanted to develop a successful sports event strategy that would leverage the current programmes already in place.
Our responseTSE supported Halmstad in their efforts to develop a successful sports event strategy, taking into consideration the Vision Halmstad 2020, and existing programmes. To that end, TSE delivered a presentation on place branding and the role of major events within a city's strategy. The main purpose of this presentation was for Halmstad to understand how it could make the most of their events in terms of communication and promotion for the city. TSE then organised a half-day workshop on the current trends in the international world of sports as well as TSE's Event Strategy Framework. This workshop aimed at developing Halmstad's insights regarding their current position and the steps needed in order to move forward. Finally, TSE provided Halmstad with a report outlining feedback and recommendations for its event strategy.
