TSE congratulates World Bowling on being shortlisted for Tokyo 2020 inclusion

Today in an official announcement by the Tokyo 2020 Additional Events Programme Panel, Bowling was nominated as one of eight sports to be considered for the Olympic programme in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

As a universal sport, Bowling is being practiced in all parts of the world. With over 200 million participants worldwide, among which include a large number of youth and approximately 50% being female, Bowling is a truly gender-equal sport that combines top athletic ability with broad accessibility and high participation.

TSE Consulting has supported World Bowling for many years, providing consulting on various aspects including its long-term sport strategy, rebranding and outreach to host cities.

Managing Director of TSE Consulting, Lars Haue-Pedersen said “This is a well-deserved nomination. As a sport that has the ability to connect with all people, Bowling is very relatable. With millions of bowling enthusiast worldwide, especially in Japan, Bowling would be the ideal addition for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.”

Bowling now goes through to the next stage of the application process which will include the submission of further details to be submitted by July 22 and followed by a briefing to organisers due to take place in Tokyo, Japan on August 7-8, 2015.

The final decision will be made in September 2015 and ratified by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
